I have the most wonderful friends. They’re loyal, caring, kind and sincere, and express their love in tremendous ways. They keep my secrets and correct me when I’m wrong, and my life is better with them in it. Yet, as much as I cherish them I know they can not be there for me every second of every day. They have their own lives and families, and I can’t always call on them for my issues or problems.
So what’s a girl to do when she needs to talk, but her husband’s at work and her girlfriends are all unavailable? What are we to do when we feel lonely and dejected, lost or discouraged? Who do we call on when we’re frustrated and confused, and uncertain of who (or what) to trust? Whose opinion can we always rely on, and whose guidance will always lead us in the right direction? In our darkest of hours and our brightest of joys, there is one name we can always call upon: JESUS!
He is our very best friend, and the lover of our souls. We can go to Him for any and everything, without hesitation!!! Oh what a friend we have in Jesus!! He is always faithful, always constant, and always on time. He knows us intimately and loves us unconditionally. Our relationship with Him is the most critical one in our lives, and we should build on it constantly. I pray that you feel enveloped by His goodness every single day, and realize the depths of God’s love for you! There will never be another friend like Him…
John 15:13-16 (NKJV)
13 Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends. 14 You are My friends if you do whatever I command you. 15 No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you. 16 You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you.
